Gymnasts gathered Thursday on the State Capitol lawn in Saint Paul, where they set a world record for the most cartwheels preformed at one time. The event was a kick-off of the 2006 Visa Championships to be held in Saint Paul Aug 16-19. The University Men's and Women's gymnastics teams helped organize the event and proceeds benefited the Children's Miracle Network.

Spectators gather to explore outer space

Martha Boyer points at an overhead slide for her presentation on NASA missions Saturday at the William O’Brien State Park visitor center in Marine on St. Croix. The presentation was part of the “University in the Park” program and also provided a chance for attendees to look through University astronomy department telescopes.

A wrestler is put in an arm bar at the J Robinson intensivewrestling camp Tuesday at Bierman Field Athletic Building.
Robinson also offers basketball and hockey camps.

After an entire morning of wrestling, running and other intense exercises, wrestlers drag each other across the mat Tuesday at Bierman Field Athletic Building. Wrestlers have eight days remaining in the 28-day intensive training camp, and at the conclusion of camp receive a shirt exclaiming "I did it."
Robinson's camps teach youths 'life skills'

Wrestlers attending the J Robinson intensive wrestling camp work on neck strength in a drill called the tripod Tuesday at Bierman Athletic Building. The intensive training programs are designed to develop participants' technique, strength, conditioning and mental attitude.
