Gophers take on Cyclones after huge win


Senior heavyweight Cole Konrad tries to pull Oklahoma State’s Jared Rosholt to the ground in Konrad’s 3-1 victory Wednesday at the Sports Pavilion. The Gophers beat the top-ranked Cowboys 21-15 and, with the win, will likely regain the No. 1 ranking they began the season with.

Gophers win Ohio State Invitational

Senior Hiro Sugimoto swims the butterfly during the Minnesota Invitational earlier this season. Sugimoto took second in the 200 butterfly at the Ohio State Invitational this weekend as the Gophers won the meet with 1,193.5 points.

Men's team dominates in home invite


Sophomore Tim Loeffler takes a breath during a race at the Minnesota Invitational on Sunday at the University Aquatic Center. The men’s team crushed the competition, winning the event with 1,702 points. The women’s team finished tied for third with Wisconsin after scoring 636 points.

Offense not scoring points


Senior quarterback Bryan Cupito drops back to pass during Minnesota’s 44-0 loss to Ohio State on Saturday. Cupito was 13-of-25 passing for 120 yards and four interceptions. Last year against the Buckeyes, he threw for nearly 400 yards.

Students Work for State Smoking Ban

Spanish and psychology senior Patty Cote gets a light Thursday morning on the smoking deck behind Stub & Herbs. Cote said she really likes the smoking ban because she smokes less when she goes out and doesn’t come home smelling of smoke.

Sacks, turnovers key for Gophers' defense

Saftey High Priority for Proposed Rail Line

Light-rail passengers travel down South Fifth Street into downtown on the Hiawatha Line on Tuesday. Metro Transit has made plans for an additional Central Corridor line which would service the University campus running under Washington Avenue.
